Autumn fruits

Most people are unaware of the large array of wild berries out there, have a look at these redcurrants and bilberries (wild blueberries) I've found over the past week or so - supermarket food, for free.

Redcurrrants:

Bilberries:

Although noticeably smaller, bilberries have an almost identical appearance to blueberries

If you happen to find some bilberries I would recommend keeping them in a breathable container, be it a wicker basket or paper bag, as they were wonderfully firm when picked straight from the bush, but didn't travel well and turned mealy upon returning home - perhaps because they were kept in a sealed plastic container and 'sweated', as mushrooms do.
